Do you have a passion to build the counseling profession in the state of West Virginia?

The Approved Licensed Professional Supervisor (ALPS) credential is your gateway to build provisionally licensed counselors and strengthen mental health services. Your experience and wisdom can outlive you if it’s passed down to those coming behind you! We invite you to attend this clinical supervisor training designed specifically for those working in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia.

If you are eligible and interested in becoming an ALPS for West Virginia, we invite you to register for a two-day training. Please visit the WVBEC ALPS page to see eligibility requirements.

There are 2 parts to the training:

If you have been a counselor for less than 10 years, you will need Part 1 and Part 2 of the training (totaling 30 hours).

If you have been a counselor for 10+ years, then you will only need Part 1 to get your required 15 hours.  Part 2 is still highly recommended.

Parts 1 and 2 are each 15 hours and are only offered in-person.  Part 1 is more didactic and focuses on the policies, procedures, and processes related to being a clinical supervisor in West Virginia.  Part 2 is more experiential and dives further into the role of the clinical supervisor.

We encourage anyone who is an ALPS or interested in becoming an ALPS to take both parts of the training to become familiar with West Virginia-specific requirements, gain clarification or a "refresh" on skills, and build community with other clinical supervisors.

This is the registration for Part 2 taking place in Morgantown.

Cancellation policy: Refunds, minus a $25 processing fee, will be made upon written request to WVCA, received on or before July 19, 2024.   No refunds will be given for late cancellations (after July 19, 2024) or no-shows.  WVCA does not transfer registration fees to future events.
