Serving military Service Members, Veterans, and their Families (SMVF) requires culturally responsive, evidence-informed practices that address unique challenges across the lifespan. This session will present key concepts from the American Counseling Association’s Exemplary Practices for Counseling Military Populations, highlighting essential competencies for clinicians working in diverse settings. Attendees will explore best practices for building trust, navigating military systems, addressing deployment-related stressors, understanding military culture, and supporting healthy transitions to civilian life. Practical strategies, case examples, and ethical considerations will be discussed, equipping participants to better serve those who are serving, have served, and those that care for them.

Further instructions for accessing this training (via Zoom) will be sent out closer to the date of the training.
